Madison’s York Tops Fright-Filled Field at Spooktacular 5K & Monster Mile

A windy, warm morning greeted boys and ghouls of all ages Saturday at the Spooktacular 5K & Monster Mile in Huntsville, and 37-year-old Brandon York of Madison led the pack of costume-clad participants with a 5K time of 15:07.

Josh Whitehead, 44, of Madison, was second in 15:18 and John Glidewell, 65, of Athens, was third in 17:26.

Kelsey Hodges, 30, of Huntsville, claimed the women’s title in 18:27. She was sixth overall. Megan Allen, 38, of Huntsville, was second (17th) in 19:37, and Candace Jacobs, 42, of Huntsville, was third (27th) in 20:30.
