Go Nuts Biking 2023 Schedule Features Full Slate

A handful of events in the Tennessee Valley Outsider region dot the 2023 Go Nuts Biking schedule for XC, Enduro and Downhill.

Changes this year include 2-day events in the Spring USAC Regional XC Series. It also has additional age groups and incentives, new stages and categories in Enduro, and other changes in the Downhill and Fall XC Series. The schedule was released in early December.

The Spring XC Series begins the weekend of Jan. 7-8 in Auburn, Ala., and begins a run stretching through the end of November.

The first event in the TVO area is July 1-2 for the Buster Beast events at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville. The park hosted Go Nuts in 2022 and has long been a popular park for biking, trail running and more. On Aug. 2, the Sweet Squirrel of Mine Enduro will be held in Chattanooga. A month later on Sept. 3, Enduro riders will battle in the Another Nut Bites the Dust event in Knoxville.

According to Go Nuts biking, its spring USAC Regional XC Series will be two-day events starting on Saturday with the youth Acorn races and Junior categories. An 8-9 year old CAT age group will be added. State rankings will be included to compare against juniors across the region. The Spring XC finale will be the opener for the Go Nuts Downhill series and Race 4 for the Enduro series.

  • The Junior XC Spring team competition winners will receive cobranded jerseys with their team logo and Go Nuts
  • For every 10 junior team entries, coaches will receive 1 free Adult XC Go Nuts entry
  • A new Collegiate category for the Spring USAC Regional XC Series will compete on Sundays, with team competition and winner jerseys
  • EMTB and Adult XC categories also on Sundays in spring

Enduro Changes

Go Nuts will have a full lineup in 2023, with a Queen stage for each race for bonus series points and cash prizes when sponsored. Other changes include:

  • Stage wins will be posted for the season; amateur male / female and expert male/ female with the most wins will receive a bonus award
  • EMTB amateur and expert categories will be added
  • Team competition winners will receive cobranded jerseys with their team logo and Go Nuts

Fall XC Changes

A full series of XC races will begin in July and end in November, including EMTB categories.

The Go Nuts Regional Championship will be at Jarrod’s Place in Novemember on a new XC course. Go Nuts will have the SC, EMTB Enduro and Downhill race for the overall 2023 Go Nuts USAC Regional Championship title.

Several one-off events also are scheduled for 2023:

  • Mardi Gras “Show Me You’re Nuts” Bike Fest will be outside New Orleans at Bogue Chitto State Park on Feb. 18-19. Saturday feature a 3/6 hour XC race and a Whip Contest in the evening, and an enduro on Sunday along with a bonus jumpline and more.
  • March 11 in downtown Columbus, Ga., will see the Urban Mtn Bike Race on Broadway as a bonus short track for Spring XC series points to help Ride On Bikes celebrate its 20th anniversary.
  • Go Nuts will join the AMBC Bike Fest in November in Knoxville, Tenn., and host a 3/6 hour race on Nov. 5.
