After a decade on the rack, HAMR Fall Fest returns Oct. 6-8 at Monte Sano State Park with a weekend of rides, clinics, music and more.
The event and clinics require tickets and registration. Huntsville Area Mountain bike Riders (HAMR) is hosting the event. HAMR’s mission is “supporting mountain bike advocacy, building and maintenance of trails for multiple users, and serving as a resource for the mountain bike community of North Alabama.” HAMR, founded in 2005, is affiliated with the International Mountain Biking Association and Southern Off-Road Bicycling Association.
Registration is required and is $95 for all access. SORBA members get a 20 percent discount. Registration opens each day at 8 a.m. at the state park. Daily park entry fee is required unless you have a state park pass. If you visit Monte Sano, or other Alabama parks, regularly, the annual pass is a solid deal.
Rides in the park will be on familiar trails including Sinks, Logan Point, Bucca Family Trail, South Plateau and others. Scheduled rides each day include routes for beginners, intermediates and ladies. Shuttles will be provided by Southern Carnage and Sunset Bicycles. Monte Sano is a popular destination for riders of all ages and abilities.
