BUFF has partnered with with Surfrider Foundation and Surfrider Foundation Europe on a new collection of headwear and neckwear for outdoors enthusiasts.
Designed by Cornwall-based artist Gemma Lessinger, the collection aims to help raise awareness and drive change so the ocean can be enjoyed by future generations. BUFF has been a longstanding advocate for the environment. Its DO MORE NOW program is focused on taking initiative for people and planet-related causes. BUFF will donate 10% of sales from this new collection to support Surfrider’s mission.
“This partnership with Surfrider Foundation is such a natural fit. We are two groups of people who are passionate about protecting the ocean and the environment,” said David Camps, Chief Executive Officer at BUFF. “We hope this collection will inspire people to get outside, do their part and support impactful organizations like Surfrider.”
Surfrider Foundation is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves, and beaches. Since the 1980s, it has been working to reduce the quantity of waste entering the marine environment. Surfrider Foundation does this through community education and empowerment, beach cleanup events, and advocating for stronger policy protections.
About the Collection
The blue-toned BUFF collection features six pieces, all with detailed ocean graphics. It includes four variations of the CoolNet UV neck gaiter, a 100% organic cotton knitted beanie, and a 5-panel Go Cap with contrasting colorways. All are designed by Gemma Lessinger and made at BUFF’s headquarters in Barcelona, using 100% renewable energy.
“Surfrider EU is pleased to begin this meaningful collaboration with BUFF and Surfrider US,” said Raphaëlle Genoud, Corporate Partnerships Manager for Surfrider EU. “We share BUFF’s desire to protect our common playground, the ocean. We’re also aligned with the brand’s values and its desire to produce more responsibly, with 90% of its production made in Europe.”
To celebrate the partnership, BUFF and Surfrider hosted a pedestrian and paddle clean-up near its Barcelona headquarters on May 7. In addition to the passionate advocates from Surfrider, BUFF showed up with suppliers, ambassadors, employees and like-minded B Corp companies to aid in the clean-up mission.
BUFF previously has done other collections, such as the popular national parks series.
