Boston or Bust Marathon Results: Temple Rises Above the Rest

Nic Temple bested a strong field to win the Running Lane Boston or Bust Marathon by two minutes Sunday morning at Ditto Landing in Huntsville.

The 23-year-old from Trussville cruised at a 6:15-per-mile pace to finish in 2:43:54. Boston or Bust is one of the final qualifying events for the 2025 Boston Marathon. The registration qualifying window is Sept. 9-13 for the April 2025 race. Temple, and the next nine Boston or Bust finishers, qualified for Beantown by beating the 3-hour mark.

Kathleen Schellman, 22, of Decatur, Ga. won the women’s Boston or Bust honors and was 14th overall. She finished in 3:09:30, easily qualifying for Boston 2025.

The course began and ended at Ditto Landing, with runners utilizing the flat and fast Aldridge Creek Greenway. In just three years, the Boston or Bust marathon has become the hottest last event for those seeking their Beantown qualifying time. This year’s race had 132 finishers from 17 states including New York, Massachusetts, Ohio, Colorado and Texas.

Clay Tidings, 25, of Charlotte was second, behind Temple, in 2:45, while Trey Fisher, 29, of LaVergne, Tenn., was third in 2:50.

Dee Goodwin, 56, of Cohutta, Ga., was second in the women’s division and 18th overall. She finished in 3:05. Nicole Clark, 29, of Chattanooga, was third (23rd) in 3:18.

Daniel Sillivant, 38, of Huntsville, won the half-marathon in 1:15:10. Shea Zablan, 32, of Birmingham, won the women’s half-marathon title in 1:19:47.
