The latest TVO Roundup is chock full of fun 5K races, which in summer are great fun since they’re short and everyone has a doggone good time.

Elkmont Red Devil 5K
ELKMONT — Tyler Morring of Toney won the Elkmont Red Devil 5K by more than a minute Saturday morning.
Morring finished in 16:43.
Mary Ivey of Madison won the women’s title in 25:51. She was 26th overall.

Killen Founders Day 5K
KILLEN — Josh Whitehead won the Founders Day 5K by a smidge, finishing in 16:32 over Isiaah Krieger and Carson Masterson.
Krieger finished in 16:39 and Masterson was right behind in 16:58.
Lily Hatton won the women’s title, finishing 13th in 20:53.

Woodstock 5K
ANNISTON — Jack Lowe of Pell City won the Woodstock 5K on Aug. 2 to best a field of 867 runners.
Lowe finished in 15:27 to win by a second over Dakota Frank of Munford. Jay Day of Moundville was third, just four seconds later, and Allan Anderson of Huntsville was fourth in 15:38.
Layney Barnes of Cypress, Texas, won the women’s title in 18:01. She was 40th overall.
Hunter Nails of Madison was 6th (16:00) and the only other local runner in the top 10. Gabriel Henneberger of Huntsville cracked the top 20, finishing 13th in 16:30.
The race served as the Road Runners Club of America national championship. Anniston has hosted the Woodstock 5K for decades. It has been the national championship seven times, among other honors.

Missionary Ridge Road Race
CHATTANOOGA — Christian Thompson of Ooltewah, Tenn., won the 57th annual Missionary Ridge Road Race on Aug. 2.
Thompson finished in 26:08 for the win in the 4.7-mile race. Andie Cozzarelli of Chattanooga won the women’s title in 27:31.

PGB Redstone Gateway Gold Star 5K
Daniel Sillivant won the PGB Redstone Gateway Gold Star 5K on July 26 at Redstone Gateway.
Sillivant finished in 16:29 to win by about 25 seconds. Julia Donovan won the women’s title in 21:57, finishing 14th overall. Both runners are from Huntsville.

Brothers for Life
DECATUR — Josh Whitehead of Madison won the Brothers for Life 5K on Aug. 9, finishing in 16:59.
Samantha Whitehead was third overall and won the women’s title. She finished in 21:52.
Eli Doss of Addison won the overall Ruck 5K title, in 28:53. Calista Bell of Huntsville took the women’s title, finishing 7th in 38:45.
