Spring Has Sprung With PEARL iZUMi’s Spring 2022 Release of New Mountain Bike, Road, Gravel and BikeStyle Gear

PEARL iZUMi introduces its Spring 2022 line featuring new mountain bike apparel and protection gear for the trail-obsessed rider, as well as an innovative chamois technology designed to provide cyclists with elevated comfort for long days in the saddle.

Keeping the gravel grinders and daily commuters in mind, PEARL iZUMi has expanded its offering in the gravel and BikeStyle spaces, making mixed terrain adventures and the morning commute all the more enjoyable.

“2022 is a big year for PEARL iZUMi. We’re introducing a totally new mountain bike line focused on empowering trail riders to push their boundaries,” said Andrew Hammond, Director of Brand Marketing. “And at the same time, we’ve improved our performance road and gravel shorts with a new premium chamois that offers more support with less bulk. We’re also launching Pedal to Zero, which encourages riders to use their bikes for everyday transportation and making it easier with new offerings in our casual BikeStyle range.

“On top of it all, this product line is the most sustainable we’ve ever made, with 79 percent of the apparel range being made with a minimum of 50 percent recycled, renewable, or organic content.”

On the protection front, the redesigned Elevate Knee Guard ($125) and Summit Elbow Guard ($65) are the perfect downhill duo that offer ultimate protection in a lightweight, breathable guard. The knee guard has been updated with TPU skid plates to make them even more durable, as well as an added tension band over the calf to hold them securely in place.

New Products

For those who want more protection, the Summit Elbow Guards feature CE-certified protection with an innovative low-profile D3O pad, delivering all day protection and comfort. Included in the new mountain bike line is the brand’s premier men’s mountain bike short, the Summit PRO Shell Short ($130), constructed from light and durable stretch-woven recycled nylon with PI Dry permanent water shedding technology. Dual Trail Access pockets make it easy to reach for snacks or your phone, while perforated panels on the inside of the legs for ventilation.

Pair this short with the Summit PRO Jersey ($80), constructed from recycled Polartec Delta fabric to amplify your body’s natural thermoregulation abilities, and in turn speed up the cooling process to keep you comfortable. On the women’s side, the Summit Short ($125) now comes with an ultra-comfortable liner featuring the new Women’s Levitate Chamois, in addition to Trail Access pockets for easy access to essentials.

The highly breathable Women’s Summit Jersey ($60) —available in new colors and in long sleeve ($70) for chilly morning rides — is constructed from fast-drying fabric and loaded with performance-focused features like rolled-forward shoulder seams for a dialed-on bike fit, as well as a drop tail that provides extra coverage from tire spray. When an extra layer is needed, the Summit Barrier Jacket ($85) provides packable protection for unpredictable weather. Its ultra-lightweight Ripstop fabric is windproof and sheds light precipitation, and a three-piece hood design allows you to pull it over your helmet.

When the weather is moody but the dirt is prime, reach for the limited-edition, highly breathable Canyon 2.5L WxB Anorak Rain Jacket to keep you riding dry. Both of these styles come in a retro geo block colorway made from upcycled materials, so you get maximum performance with a minimal environmental impact.

Shifting gears to backroad riding, the Expedition PRO Bib Short ($265), available in men’s and women’s, not only features the all-new Levitate PRO Chamois and luxurious Italian PRO Transfer fabric, but the men’s style is PEARL iZUMI’s first men’s bib short with a drop-trail to make nature breaks quick and easy. Pack all your necessities in low profile cargo pockets on the thighs and two small pockets on the rear panel.

Gravel Grinding

The dedicated gravel grinder will look no further than the new Expedition PRO Groadeo Suit ($300), available in men’s and women’s. This limited-edition style is a combination of PEARL iZUMi’s premium technologies—the all-new super supportive Levitate PRO Chamois, luxurious Italian PRO Transfer fabric on the legs for long-haul comfort, a highly-breathable Jacquard knit fabric on the jersey, and water-shedding PI Dry technology on the shorts to shrug off tire spray and light rain. Additionally, the Expedition PRO Groadeo Suit is constructed with upcycled materials.

PEARL iZUMi’s road-focused PRO Bib Short ($225), available in men’s and women’s, has been upgraded with the Levitate PRO Chamois and luxurious Italian PRO Transfer fabric. This new chamois technology with triple-density design, maximum ventilation and multi-directional stretch delivers first-rate support and fit. The construction technique uses minimal seams, which provides for a perfect contour to the body. All of these features can also be found in their PRO Short ($185), available in men’s and women’s, for those who prefer shorts over bibs.

Keeping in mind the cyclist who prefers to bike around town rather than drive, PEARL iZUMi has them covered with gear that blends comfort and performance with style. Transition between bike and all your daily activities with the Rove Short ($90), available in men’s and women’s. Made with a touch of elastane to provide easy-going four-way stretch that improves comfort while on the bike, this short also includes details like an adjustable waistband and a side pocket to securely stash your phone.

Pair it with the Rove Tech Henley top ($45), available in men’s and women’s, featuring drirelease® fabric that wicks moisture and dries quickly to keep you comfortable even on hot and humid days, so you can keep feeling fresh even while on the go.
