The new “Together We Rise” activation for the 828 Endurance Community is a collective relief effort for outdoor and endurance businesses in western North Carolina impacted by Hurricane Helene.
The effort is spurred by Fuel Goods and Pressio, both based in Asheville, N.C. Fuel Goods is the inclusive leader in making sports nutrition accessible for all people. Pressio is a sustainable performance apparel maker with roots in the endurance world.
The brands created “Together We Rise”, a first-of-its-kind activation to directly support the the 828 Endurance Community’s struggling neighbors in the wake of the ongoing disaster. The campaign aims to sell 1,000 custom-designed shirts to support local businesses that service the Western North Carolina endurance hub and beyond. All proceeds will go directly to impacted businesses.
Shirts are available in men’s and women’s sizes at fuelgoods.com. Supporters can choose from three price options ranging from $28 to $100.
Ongoing Support
“Asheville is our home and the inspiration we feel from the people and the landscape here reinforces our commitment to this community daily,” said Fuel Goods CEO Laura Jorgensen. “Hurricane Helene continues to be an ongoing disaster, with relief efforts largely organized by the community. Outside support is crucial, but we all can band together to get through this.
“We started the 828 Endurance Community to support our friends and neighbors’ local businesses through this crisis. The destruction of so many endurance businesses, including Rockgeist’s production capabilities and Asheville Adventure Company’s facilities is heart-wrenching. We hope to offset some of that devastation through the proceeds from shirt sales.”
Fuel Goods’ personnel, distribution and office facilities remain operational. Flooding from Hurricane Helene caused massive destruction to its neighboring business, custom bikepacking bag brand Rockgeist Bikepack USA. Another business neighbor and adventure trip provider, Asheville Adventure Company, lost its outpost and climbing gym. The damage and devastation inspired Fuel Goods to partner with Pressio and Ashlee Designs on the ”Together We Rise” T-shirt campaign.
Additionally, 10 percent of sales in October of sports nutrition and snacks from fuelgoods.com will support relief efforts through Together We Rise campaign.
