Huntsville Track Club Executive Board Seats Up for Vote

Several seats aon the Huntsville Track Club Executive Board are up for election at the club’s first meeting of the year.

Club officials will give an update on club activities and finances during the Jan. 30 meeting at the Jaycee Community Building on Airport Road. Club members must be in attendance to vote for the executive board. Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting begins at 6, with RSVP required by Jan. 26.

All board positions are open to nomination and election. Email elections@huntsvilletrackclub.org to be included on the ballot.

The club’s elected positions, with current officer:
President – Eric Fritz *
Vice President Programs – Mica Anderson
Vice President Races/Equipment – Dink Taylor *
Vice President Communication – currently vacant *
Treasurer – Kris Strope
Secretary – Lauren Stegen
* have indicated they do not wish to run again

Huntsville Track Club was founded in 1971 as a non-profit and tax-exempt organization. It is affliated with the Road Runner’s Club of America and USA Track & Field. The club exists “to support, educate, conduct and participate in the associated sports of running and jogging for health and fitness, fun runs, road races, cross country, and track and field at all levels; including pre-school age group, school, and open and masters for both male and female.”

The club puts on and supports numerous events throughout the year including road and trail, cross country summer runs, the Rocket City Marathon, Cotton Row Run and more.
