Premium Italian eyewear brand KOO Eyewear has announced its official partnership with professional German cycling team BORA – hansgrohe.

The brands came together by their shared mission of further amplifying the perspective of brotherhood across the cycling community. KOO also returns to the UCI World Tour. The companies will celebrate together at the Tour Down Under in Australia on Jan. 16.

“To partner with such a high-performing professional cycling team felt like an obvious decision,” said KOO’s Marketing Manager, Simona Tironi. “Performance is one of KOO’s brand pillars. To see it translate into being alongside professionals of this level, who enable us to constantly exchange feedback on the sunglasses, is invaluable for the development of new products and for bringing excellent gear to the market.”

The partnership will include the launch of three signature-edition cycling sunglasses. The Alibi, Spectro and Demos frames by KOO boast colors inspired by the BORA – hansgrohe team. These collaborative sunglasses are suitable for amateur and professional cyclists.

“KOO is providing us with an innovative eyewear collection. Eyewear plays a key role when it comes to performance because it ensures good visibility in crucial race situations as well as it protects the rider,” said Gerd Kodanik, Head of Technical Performance at BORA – hansgrohe. “KOO’s products are high-tech and high quality. They are fitted with a wide selection of premium Zeiss lenses, which gives us the perfect choice in diverse race and weather conditions.”

The collection is led by the metallic green Alibi sunglasses with a panoramic photochromic lens ($245 MSRP), along with similarly colored Spectro sunglasses ($215 MSRP) and Demos sunglasses ($200 MSRP).
