Küat Issues Recall of Transfer v2 Bicycle Hitch Racks

A recall has been issued due to a defect, related to motor vehicle safety, in the Küat Innovations Transfer v2 Bicycle Hitch Racks.

Owners should cease using the racks immediately. The racks in question were manufactured from Nov. 1, 2020, to March 24, 2024. Küat is offering a remedy for the potentially defective pivot cams on the rack.

The pivot cams on the affected Transfer v2 Bicycle Hitch Racks can become disengaged, allowing the bike carrier to unexpectedly drop into the lower position. This malfunction could cause a bicycle to fall off the product while a vehicle is in motion. This could cause injury or property damage to the product, the bicycle, and to the subject vehicle and other vehicles on the road, including potentially a vehicle crash.

The defect may occur without warning.

More information about the defect, along with a temporary solution and how to get a free repair, can be found here.
