UltraRunning Magazine has included the 30th edition of Huntsville’s Mountain Mist 50K in the launch of its 2024 Old School Ultras calendar.
This collection of legendary races have stood the test of time and represent the ethos of ultrarunning. Each race was hand-selected for its history, community of volunteers and race organizers. Other considerations include support of small businesses, exemplary effort in trail maintenance and environmental stewardship, and representing the unique culture of the sport.
Also included in the list is the 46th Strolling Jim in Wartrace, Tennessee, a longtime favorite of runners in the TVO footprint. The event includes a 40ish-mile ultra, marathon, half-marathon, 10k and tons of local support.
