HUNTSVILLE — Caleb Ballew and Elizabeth Dietrich won the top titles in the inaugural Race for Justice 10K on Monday at John Hunt Park.
Ballew, 38, finished in 44:11 to win by a minute over Will Crisp, 46, who crossed the line in 45:10. Ran Crump, 27, was third in 47:50.
Dietrich, 43, finished 10th in 52:38. She also was third in the 5K event (see below). Sarah Ray was second in the 10K in 53:26 and 12th overall. Amanda Warriner, 41, was third (13th) in 54:20.
The Race for Justice 10K, 5K and 1-mile fun run benefits the Madison County Volunteer Lawyers Program. Presenting sponsor was the JMJ Law Firm. Numerous other sponsors contributed, as well. The MCVLP provides pro bono legal services to low income citizens of Madison County and promotes volunteerism among area attorneys.

Race for Justice 5K
Hutton Schroer, 13, sped to a 20:51 finish to win the Race for Justice 5K by more than a minute.
Emily Carroll, 35, claimed the women’s division with a time of 25:48. She was seventh overall.
Gene DeSanti, 39, was second in 21:41. Zach Anderson, 30, was third in 23:18.
Erica Sandlin, 12, took second in the women’s division. She finished in 29:24 and was 16th overall. Elizabeth Dietrich was third (17th) in 29:34.
