John Hunt Park is a multi-use public facility in Huntsville. It originally was the city’s airport before the current one was built in the late 1960s. A golf course and other sports facilities were built on the grounds. Most recently, the park’s running, biking, volleyball, soccer and tennis facilities have boomed after the golf course was closed. It has played host to championship running events, with others scheduled, and a skateboard park is in the works as are other facilities.
