Peter Toland and Sarah Crouch won the Front Half-Marathon titles Sunday morning on a rainy final day of Rocket City Marathon race weekend.
Toland, 26, of Huntsville, finished in 1:18:32, running a solid 6-minute mile to win by steps over James Miller of Huntsville. Miller was hot on his heels, finishing in 1:18:53. Matt McMillan of Owens Cross Roads was third in 1:19:15.
Crouch, 35, of Madison, won the women’s division and was fourth overall. She finished in 1:20:11.
Katy Butler of Dayton, Ohio, was second (8th) in 1:25:09. Katie Cannizzaro of Vestavia Hills was third (13th) in 1:28:55.
The race had 354 official finishers out of 539 registered. The race was one of three Sunday, including the Back Half-Marathon and 48th Rocket City Marathon.
The Huntsville Track Club puts on the Rocket City Marathon race weekend. The events are presented by the Huntsville Sports Commission along with 15 other sponsors.
