Southern States 200 registration opens Sept. 1 for the new endurance event scheduled for April 2024.
The new event is one of only three point-to-point mountain trail races in the United States. It is a collaboration of Southeastern Trail Runs in Birmingham and Running Lane Events in Huntsville.
It is scheduled for April 12-15, with runners having 100 hours to complete the course. The run starts in Rocky Face, Ga., (near Dalton) and ends at Mount Cheaha in Alabama, the state’s tallest point. The route primarily follows the legendary Pinhoti Trail.
Any runner who registers but is not able to run can receive a partial refund up to 30 days before the race. Runners may roll over their entry to the next year’s race if they withdraw up to 30 days before the race date. More specifics are listed, along with information about volunteers and crews, on the Southern States 200 site and registration site.
Registration will be available here on UltraSignup.
