Solid Field
The event had a field of 60 runners and walkers ranging from age 5 to 79, some completing their first 5K. It was facilitated and timed by the River City Runners, which had a solid turnout of members. Runners started and ended at the Calhoun College Health Sciences building.
Proceeds benefit the college’s Student Physical Therapist Assistant Fund. The Health Sciences building includes classes and labs for Physical Therapist Assistant, Nursing, Emergency Medical Services, Dental Assisting, Surgical Operating Room technician and Medical Lab technician.
The race was moved to Friday evening. Temperatures were mild and calm. Other than the stiff whiff of a polecat near the 2-mile turnaround, it was a super evening and event. Reps from ATI Physical Therapy, Rumble and Stretch Zone also were on site.
