Andy Prewett is retiring after 23 years as Land Management Director for the Land Trust of North Alabama, with Brandon Moore stepping into the role to help continue the organization’s growth.
If you happened to be on the Land Trust or Monte Sano State Park trails Sunday morning, those weren’t superheroes, woodland fairies or otherworldly figures zipping through the woods. It was a handful of fast trail runners, including Gunnar Carter, flying along the paths in the annual Oak Park Challenge.
Laurel Beversdorf won the 2024 Oak Park Challenge trail run and trimmed 10 minutes off her time from the previous year. Training, learning to run, yoga and determination helped her achieve her goals.
