Tailwind Nutrition Launches New Courtney Dauwalter Birthday Cake Recovery Mix

Ultrarunning legend Courtney Dauwalter is celebrating a milestone birthday and Tailwind Nutrition is honoring the big day with the launch of a new flavor: Birthday Cake Recovery Mix!

As ultrarunners and fans of the sport know, Dauwalter is all about keeping it light and fun, and that spirit came through in this new collaborative flavor of Tailwind’s Recovery Mix. With the rousing success of Dauwalter’s signature Dauwaltermelon with Lime Endurance Fuel, she worked with Tailwind on a celebratory flavor of Recovery Mix.

“Celebrating all the victories and efforts, big and small, is what has gotten Tailwind where it is today,” said Maggie Guterl, athlete manager of Tailwind Nutrition. “So for the sake of celebrating both our fans and our athletes putting in the hard work, we wanted to put out this little slice of cake for their efforts! The new Birthday Cake Recovery Mix flavor is a perfect reflection of Courtney’s positive and encouraging attitude, and commemorates her birthday at the same time.”

What is It?

Tailwind’s Recovery Mix is a unique blend of complete protein, electrolytes and carbs, and is the perfect way to toast your accomplishments. That could be a hard-fought training effort, race finish, or personal best. Recovery Mix is non-GMO, gluten free, soy free and vegan. It is also scientifically formulated with a complete blend of proteins that help resupply all nine essential amino acids.

Tailwind’s Recovery Mix also includes an important blend of carbohydrates. When taken within one hour after activity, it replenishes the body’s glycogen stores. This helps you recover quickly, have reduced late night snack cravings, and get you back out there faster.

“It was an absolute blast coming up with this flavor with Tailwind,” said Dauwalter, who won the first triple crown of ultrarunning in 2023. That treble included the Western States 100, Hardrock 100 and Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc. She also set the women’s course record at both the Hardrock 100 and the Mt. Fuji 100 Mile in 2024.

“Last year I was so excited to have the Dauwaltermelon with Lime flavor of Endurance Fuel become a year-round flavor, and have high hopes for this new Birthday Cake Recovery Mix flavor. I love celebrating life. This is the perfect flavor to do it!”

Courtney Dauwalter’s Birthday Cake Recovery Mix is available, while supplies last, in packs of four single-serving, easy-to-use stick packs.
