Southern Carnage bikes is hosting a Transition Bikes demo day event May 27 at Monte Sano State Park.
Southern Carnage is located in Mooresville, a quiet town that has super easy access to Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge. Along with Transition, it also offers Cinelli and Ritchey bikes and frames, custom builds, tires and parts, bags, tools and repair services.
The Transition Bikes demo day begins at 10 a.m. in the Monte Sano State Park parking lot. It costs $5 per person (ages 12-up, $2 ages 4-11) to get into the park. Look for the signs showing the way to the demo site. Riders will get a chance to test at least five Transition bikes and meet the teams from Transition and Southern Carnage.
Available bikes include the PBJ, Patrol, Scout, Sentinel and Spire. Differen sizes of the bikes will be available. Riders of all ages and sizes likely will find one or more to enjoy.
Monte Sano State Park comprises about 2,140 acres and offers tent and RV camping, cabins, daily use and more than 20 miles of hiking trails and 14 miles of biking trails. Many of these trails are rocky-rooty technical with serious ascents or descents. Users have a range of trails to test their skills.
If you’re interested in gravel riding at the Wheeler NWR, Southern Carnage is a good spot for advice. They offer daily rentals for gravel bikes, and the refuge has more than 30 miles of car-free roads. Southern Carnage also has and works on road and mountain bikes, so check out those options, too. The refuge is flat, too, so the roads are fun to ride on. Remember to bring fluids and a tool kit.
Transition Bikes began about 20 years ago and is headquartered in Bellingham, Washington.
