Trek Recalls Allant+ 7 Bicycles Due to Crash Hazard

Trek Allant+ 7 e-powered bikes are being recalled after at least 58 riders crashed due to an issue with the rear brake hose.

Trek, which is based in Wisconsin, issued the recall on its Allant+ 7 bikes with Tektro brakes. The rear brake hose can kink and break when turning the handlebars. This can cause the rider to lose control of the bike, posing a crash hazard.

The recall affects about 7,000 bikes.

Trek is printed on the bicycle’s frame and the model name is printed on the top tube. The following models are included in this recall:

  • Allant+ 7 (Nautical Navy)
  • Allant+ 7 Lowstep (Nautical Navy)
  • Allant + 7S (Nautical Navy and Matte Quicksilver)
  • Allant +7S Stagger (Nautical Navy and Matte Quicksilver)

According to the CPSC, riders should immediately stop using the bikes. Contact an authorized Trek dealer for repair information.

This is the second significant recall lately on bikes.
