Turkey Trot 5K Results … From Everywhere!

Thanksgiving is time for friends, family, blessings, a bit of “woe is me” here and there (and that’s OK), travel, football, food, naps and all of the Turkey Trot 5K races you can handle.

Holidays are great for some, and not so much for others. They can be tough. Whatever your situation may be this holiday season, we here at TVO wish you good tidings and blessings.

One good thing about the annual turkey trot events is all the smiles, laughs, hugs and fun. We have a cornucopia of them Thursday morning in the TVO footprint, so let’s get to the results!

31st Crisis Center Turkey Trot 5K

Jackson Nguyen of Gurley held off Grattan O’Neill at the wire to win the 31st annual Crisis Center Turkey Trot 5K at the University of Alabama Huntsville.

Nguyen, 21, slipped across the timing mat in 15:56:59 while O’Neill, 17, of Huntsville, crossed in 16:04:75.

Sarah Crouch, 35, of Madison, won the women’s title in 16:53. She was 11th overall.

The event had 2,183 official finishers from more than two dozen states, including California, New York and Michigan. Event proceeds go to Crisis Services of North Alabama to support victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.

Theatre Turkey Trot

Andrew Wrenn of Grant won the Theatre Turkey Trot 5K by almost a minute over Jason Veclotch of Peachtree City, Ga.

Wrenn finished in 17:40, with Veclotch crossing in 18:17.

Jessica Ridley of Peachtree City, Ga., won the women’s title and was sixth overall. She finished in 19:32.

The event took place in south Huntsville. Proceeds support Around the Curtain Community Children’s Theatre, a 501c3 non-profit children’s theatre in Huntsville.

3M Turkey Trot of Morgan County

DECATUR — Stuart Lamp of Decatur won the 3M Turkey Trot of Morgan County in 17:04.

Lamp topped Blake Graham of Moulton, who was second in 17:18.

Katie Mae Coan of Moulton won the women’s title and was ninth overall. She finished in 18:31.

The event had a record 305 finishers and was facilitated by River City Runners. Proceeds benefit the United Way of Morgan County.

Trax 4 Max Turkey Trot

FLORENCE — Hunter Nails won the Trax 4 Max Turkey Trot by almost a minute with a comfortable time of 15:34.

Bennett Brake was second in 16:23.

Yate Herbo won the women’s division and was 20th overall. She finished in 20:15.

The field had 510 finishers and an average finish of 33:50. Proceeds benefit the YMCA of the Shoals.

Fitness Central Turkey Trot

CHATTANOOGA — Eli Kaczinski won the 34th Fitness Central Turkey Trot 4-mile race in 20:11.

Hannah Nelson won the women’s division in 25:45.

The race is the oldest Thanksgiving day road race in Chattanooga. It previously was known as the Sports Barn Turkey Trot. The 4-mile course is certified.

Regal Turkey Trot 5K

KNOXVILLE — Cameron Ponder of North Carolina took top honors in the Regal Turkey Trot 5K with a dash at the finish.

Ponder crossed in 15:07, nipping Colten Lee of Tennessee by seven seconds.

Katie Baksa of Tennessee finished ninth and won the women’s title. She crossed in 16:43.

Cleveland Thanksgiving Day 5K

CLEVELAND, Tenn. — Rob Wooden of Cleveland won the Thanksgiving Day 5K by a minute, finishing in 18:13.

Krissi Maynard of Etowah, Tenn., was 10th and won the women’s title. She finished in 20:39.

Atlanta Half-Marathon

ATLANTA — Kyle Wagner and Catherine Toriello, both of Huntsville, completed the Invesco QQQ Atlanta Half-Marathon on Thursday morning.

Both runners finished in 1:46:05, a pace of 8:06 per mile.

The half-marathon is put on by the Atlanta Track Club.

Wagner also recently completed the Dinosaur Valley 100-mile run in Texas, finishing in 28:34:34.

Gold’s Gym Turkey Day 5K

JACKSON, Tenn. — Christy Scott of Owens Cross Roads claimed Grand Masters honors in the 20th annual Gold’s Gym Turkey Day 5K race Thursday morning.

Scott, 51, finished in 23:30 to claim women’s grand master honors.
