Tristan Autry of Atlanta won the Twilight 5K, benefitting the University of Alabama-Huntsville track and field program, Saturday evening on the UAH campus in Huntsville.
Autry won in 17:03, cruising along at a 5:30 pace. Mark Porter of Colorado Springs was second in 17:18, and Grattan O’Neill of Huntsville was third in 17:27.
Clarissa Hell of Huntsville won the women’s division in 20:50. She was ninth overall. Sarah Burwell of Marietta, Ga., was second (15th) in 21:06. Riley Perlakowski of Kennesaw, Ga., was third (18th) in 21:13.
Teresa Berlin of Prospect, Tenn., won the Women’s Masters division in 23:41. Andy Hissam of Madison claimed the Men’s Master’s title in 20:45.
The field of 185 finishers had a sultry evening for the 5K, with temperatures in the mid-80s and a bit of humidity. The course was the one used for the annual Thanksgiving day Turkey Trot 5K, with the delightful hills and long straight to the turnaround. The event as put on by the Huntsville Track Club, with assistance from Fleet Feet.
