Nate Maehlmann of Madison won the Twilight 5K in a thrilling finish Saturday at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
Mahelmann, 16, won in 19:51:1, edging Stephen Owens, 34, of Huntsville, who crossed in 19:56. Dylan Glass, 30, of Gurley, was third in 19:58.7.
Katie Maehlmann, 44, of Madison was the first female (9th overall) in 21:08.5. Joy Berlin, 16, of Prospect, Tenn., was second (17th) in 22:17.1 and Jessica Troyer, 22, of Huntsville was third (18th) in 22:27.

The field of 174 runners had hot evening conditions around the UAH campus, a familiar setting thanks to a handful of events each year. Huntsville Track Club hosts the event with support from Fleet Feet.
