Mark Porter and Grace Gosline claimed top honors in the 16th annual Twilight 5K Saturday evening on the University of Alabama-Huntsville campus.
Porter, of Colorado Springs, Col., won the race in 17:15 with a pace of 5:34 per mile. Athan O’Neill of Huntsville was second in 17:42, and Jude Seibert of Ardmore was just steps behind in third in 17:46.
Gosline, of Arab, won the women’s title and was 24th overall. She finished in 22:19. Adah Seibert of Ardmore was second (25th) in 23 minutes, and Tia Larsen-Calcano of Madison was third (30th) in 23:35.
The race had 167 finishers, fewer than last year. It’s an evening event, starting near Spragins Hall and winding around the campus before returning there to finish. The race helps the University of Alabama-Huntsville track and field program.
