After serving in an interim role, Eric Weatherbee is the new executive director of the Knoxville Track Club.
Weatherbee is a longtime member of the club, including as volunteer for multiple races and board director. Board president Brian Huskey made the announcement June 16. He said the board did several search committee and Executive Committee interviews, along with discussions with club staff members and others.
“KTC has an impressive history of supporting athletes, young to old, elite to first-timers,” Weatherbee said. “I’m excited to engage with our members and continue KTC’s pursuit of lifelong physical well-being opportunities for all. I’ve seen that excitement working with officials at the Volunteer Track Classic, at trail races, at road races, in board meetings and at RunKNOX training sessions.”
Huskey said Weatherby “brings a strong background of nonprofit service and professional experience to the organization. Having worked with Eric over the past five months, I am confident he can build upon our 60-year history to grow the club on the road, track and trails. He brings a ton of energy along with new ideas to help us take those next steps.”
Weatherbee said he is “eager to get to work ensuring KTC remains one of the premier running clubs in the country for years to come.”
