Thirteen Alabama age-class records were broken Sunday, including two of the youngest and oldest ages, during the Winter Winds Road Races in Huntsville.
The 2- and 4-mile races are put on by the Huntsville Track Club. Both races are HTC Grand Prix events and certified for state age records.
Jean McCrady set the record for 89-year-olds in the 4-mile with a time of 1:01:56. McCrady has numerous state records and was honored by the HTC at its annual banquet in January. Kathy Harper, 72, established records in the 2- and 4-mile races with her times of 17:17 and 36:09. The latter carved almost 10 minutes off the previous record.
