Swinging Bridge Half Marathon Results: Records for the Winners

WINCHESTER, Tenn. — The trails at Tims Ford State Park are clean and runnable, albeit a bit hilly here and there, as they skirt the edge of the massive lake created by damming the Elk River. So it was no surprise Saturday when the top finishers in the fourth annual Swinging Bridge half marathon and 10K races posted record times for their wins.

Rob McConnell of Belvedere, Tenn., won the half marathon by almost a minute in 2:04:17, good enough for seventh on the Top 10 list. Right behind him was Maddie Kreserie of Gallatin, Tenn., crossing in 2:05:13. That puts her second in the women’s record book.

Joshua Wilson of Pulaski was third, in 2:05:44, and Jason Woodall of Winchester fourth in 2:06:50.

Trisha Scott of Mount Juliet, Tenn, was second in the women’s division (7th overall) in 2:17:12. That puts her sixth in the women’s record list. Ginny Patterson of Lebanon, Tenn., rounded out the overall top 10 with a 2:20:59 finish. She eased into the record list at ninth with that time.

The half marathon field had 87 finishers from four states including Ohio.

Both races were put on by Running Lane. Its next trail events are the Wade Mountain marathon, half marathon and 10K on Oct. 20.

Swinging Bridge 10K

A record finish in the women’s division, along with two other records, and four in the men’s division capped a speedy Swinging Bridge 10K race.

Trish Graves of Mount Juliet smashed the record set in 2022 by three minutes, winning the women’s division in 1:00:48. She was sixth overall. Bethann Guidry of Nashville was second (9th), in 1:05:38, putting her fourth on the women’s top 10 list.

Noah Flynn of Decatur won the overall in 53:31, putting him second on the men’s top 10 list. Andres Manuel of Valley Head, Ala., was second in 54:45, good for fourth in the record list.

The 10K had 126 finishers five states including Texas and Mississippi.
