Oak Park Challenge Results: Glass, Gage Crush Monte Sano

Dylan Glass and Jenny Gage claimed top honors at the spirited Oak Park Challenge 7-mile trail run on Monte Sano.

Glass, 31, won the event with a time of 1:01:18, while Gage, 33, took the women’s title and was 10th overall. She finished in 1:14:03.

The annual event starts at Oak Park and winds to the top of Monte Sano on Land Trust trails and a bit of state park land. The route is fun, offers a good chance for swift times, and in autumn is quite scenic. It’s a race to the top and back down. The trails also are part of the Mountain Mist 50K route so it’s a bit of a warmup for some who tackle that January event.

Only two teens finished in the Top 25, a bit unusual for a local event. It’s autumn, though, with other local events taking place. The field had 116 finishers.
