Rodney Stoker claimed a sizzling win in the Rabid Raccoon 25K last weekend, crossing the line eight minutes ahead of his closest pursuer.
Stoker finished in 1:59 to get the win. The event took place near Chattanooga atop Raccoon Mountain at Laurel Point. Runners toodled along Megawatt, Grindstone Ridge, Lower Chunky, Live Wire 1 & 2, High Voltage and Split Rock trails. Conditions were cold and clear. Runners picked up about 2,200 feet of elevation.
Steven Spevacek of Lilburn, Ga., was second in 2:07, and Matthew Johnson of Flowery Branch, Ga., was third in 2:08.
Martha Clemmer of Chattanooga was the first female (sixth overall) in 2:13. Anja Conlon of Chattanooga was second (23rd) in 2:38, and Adela Negon-Flores of Birmingham was third (33rd) in 2:50.
The event had 152 finishers, with two DNF and a handful of DNS.
