Marianne Butt of Owens Cross Roads won the Yeti 100K women’s title in the June 23 event in Washington, capping this week’s TVO Roundup.
Butt, 46, finished in 12:01:20 and was second overall. Butt’s time ranks second-best in the 4-year event’s Top 10. The second- and third-place finishers also posted T10 times behind Butt.
The Yeti 100K and 100-Mile races were held in Hyak, Wash. The 100K had a field of 36, with 11 DNFs.
John Cobbs, 61, of Birmingham was the only other Alabama finisher. Cobbs was seventh in 14:22:17.

Firecracker Chase 10.2, 5K
Jeremy Kaiding won the Firecracker Chase 10.2-mile race in 1:17:42 on Saturday in Fayetteville, Tenn.
He won by about two minutes over Tim Harris (1:19) and Jacob Hell was third (1:20).
Jennefer Wenneker was fourth overall and won the women’s title in 1:21.

(Yes, 10.2 miles is weird. Race officials say back in the olden days the course had a measuring hiccup and now they keep the 10.2 for fun. That’s cool and unique. Good for them.)
Hunter Hardman easily cruised to the Firecracker Chase 5K win in 19:39, winning by more than a minute.
Trevor Murphy was second in 20:58, and Brighton Bain was third in 21:15.
Lindsey Hamilton won the women’s 5K title in 25:34. She was 13th overall. Sadie Wisner was second (18th) in 27:41, and Whitney Plunkett was third (19th) in 27:42.

Keller Festival Superhero 5-Mile
Josh Whitehead of Madison won the Keller Festival Superhero 5-Mile run Saturday morning in Tuscumbia by almost three minutes.
Whitehead is no stranger to the winner’s podium, and claimed the Superhero title in 27:18. Blake Graham was second in 29:51, and Kenneth Richardson of Rogersville was third in 31:25.
Lauren Hallmark won the women’s title in 38:54 and was 11th overall. Vivian Zou of Huntsville was second (12th) in 39:08, and Lillian Humphries of Florence was third (13th) in 39:36.
Seventy-five runners completed the 5-mile event.
