The first weekend of autumn was gorgeous and many TVO Outsiders hit the streets or trails for some fun events, as our latest TVO Roundup will attest.

Yeti 100
A handful of area runners tackled the Yeti 100-mile Endurance Run in Abingdon, Virginia, over the weekend, with Michael Wall of Huntsville finishing 10th to lead the pack.
Wall, 38, finished in 20 hours, 3 minutes, 29 seconds. The top 14 runners finished in less than 21 hours.
Eric Fritz, 56, of Huntsville, finished 16th in 21:17:27. Mica Anderson, 30, of Huntsville, was 42nd in 23:04:58. She was the top local woman and third in the 30-39 age group.
Sixty-two runners finished in less than 24 hours. The event saw 146 finishers and attracted runners from three dozen states including Alaska, along with Canada and Washington, D.C.

Birmingham Half-Marathon
Cameron Conners, 31, of Huntsville, finished fifth in the Birmingham Half-Marathon on Sunday in 1:29:46.
Richard Mayberry, 24, of Huntsville, was 41st in 1:45:59. Jason Tibbs, 31, of Owens Cross Roads, was 101st, in 1:57:40.

HAMR Fall Fest
HAMR Fall Fest returns Oct. 6-8 at Monte Sano State Park with a weekend of rides, clinics, music and more.
The event and clinics require tickets and registration. Huntsville Area Mountain bike Riders (HAMR) is hosting the event. HAMR’s mission is “supporting mountain bike advocacy, building and maintenance of trails for multiple users, and serving as a resource for the mountain bike community of North Alabama.” HAMR, founded in 2005, is affiliated with the International Mountain Biking Association and Southern Off-Road Bicycling Association.
Registration is required and is $95 for all access. SORBA members get a 20 percent discount. Registration opens each day at 8 a.m. at the state park.

Tweed Ride 2023
Start making plans now for the 2023 Tweed Ride, set for Nov. 4 at the Lowery House in Huntsville.
This will be the most dapper cycling event in Huntsville, featuring a delightful gathering of vintage bike enthusiasts and fashion-forward riders.
Riders will enjoy scenic neighborhoods of Huntsville and the spirt of a bygone era. Vintage bikes are welcome but not required. The ride will end at L’Etoile Patisserie for a post-ride celebration.
