Deanna Doane, 27, of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., was right behind him, finishing second in 2:28:40. Doane snagged the silver just a day after winning the Walking Tall 50K in Arkansas by about 25 minutes.

Paul Speicher, 41, of Huntsville, was third in 2:33.
